Situated on the North-East coast of Majorca, Alcudia is one of the most popular Balearic resorts with English-speaking holidaymakers.
Alcudia has almost five miles of golden sands stretching from the Port of Alcudia through to Playa de Muro.
The port area is relaxing by day and by night and there is a wide choice of bars and restaurants which offer local Mallorquin, as well as other Mediterranean and European dishes. The fish restaurants around the port are a must if that is your preference.
Five of the best for families:
KartingMania is the Go-Karting Track located at Hotel Bellevue Complex in Alcudia (Puerto Alcudia). It is the biggest karting track in Alcudia and one of the best places to have fun for families and children.
Palma Aquarium is a fun attraction for families and children. Palma Aquarium is located in Playa de Palma, near the capital. Palma Aquarium is a Delfinarium, leisure and entertainment centre for adults and children for all ages in Majorca.
The medieval town of Alcudia stands within an ancient Roman fort wall built many centuries ago. It is a great day out for all the family and the perfect way to experience the authentic Majorcan life.
The reconstructed ramparts and walls, the two impressive gates, the Palma or Sant Sebastia Gate and the Xara or Del Port Gate are all worth a visit.
The original Alcudia old town is situated around two miles inland from the port and for many centuries its imposing city walls protected the local community from invasion and frequent pirate attacks.
S’Albufera Natural Park is a wonderful natural park and a nesting site for birdlife.
The park is located about 6 km from Puerto Alcudia, at Artà – Puerto Alcudia road and between the municipalities of Sa Pobla and Muro. The park has a total area of 1708,75 hectares and it is the largest and most important wetland area in Majorca.
One of Alcudia’s standout activities has to be the HidroPark Water Park. When your kids are ready for a break from the glorious Spanish sun, why not opt for a thrill-filled cool down, and head just over the road, for the quintessential water park experience!
If you’re up for a heart-racer, make sure to take a ride on the Kamikaze; with two slides at a total height of 15 metres, it really is one for the brave at heart. Once you’re reached the bottom, make sure to head to the Spiral, which will give you a bullet-speed mysterious descent straight into the depths, or the Slide Race, where you can battle it out to be the first one to reach dizzying speeds!
Overall, Puerto de Alcudia is a very family friendly resort. The warm shallow waters of Alcudia Bay make the resort very popular with families with young children, and the beach is without doubt a major attraction here with its fine, clean sand and wide variety of water sports and other facilities available to suit all tastes.
Club MAC Alcudia is located in the heart of the region with accessible links to all the fantastic attractions.
